From small beginnings come great things... Shoppington began as a small, owner/operated retail boutique in 2003. Originally named 3G Teak, the name was selected to brand an ideology - three girls, three generations and three goals. The three girls were the original business exploratory team - Kim Fagan, her mother Carol and her daughter, Tamara who was just six months old when the business started. The three goals are:
- To provide a business opportunity for Kim to extend and utilize her business skills and provide an income for her to support her young family;
- To provide an opportunity to engage in travel to interesting locations and enjoy developing handmade products; and
- To develop a successful business venture that enhanced the economic and sustainable development of the Waitomo district.
Shoppington has built a proud reputation offering a unique range of affordable homewares and giftware. Specialising in outdoor water features, Shoppington proudly stocks the largest range of self contained water features in New Zealand.
Shoppington is a destination, a way of life, a place to connect. Built on strong core values, this story is not one of overnight success. The business has experienced times of great success and extreme struggle. It is a story of innovation, commitment and self discovery, providing hands on opportunities for all to learn and grow.
Shoppington, as it has become known today, is credit to a team of some very special individuals made strong through passion, teamwork and heartfulness. We would like to sincerely thank the staff, customers and suppliers who have made this journey with us.

"I have been a customer since opening week and constantly enjoy the experience and also the enjoyment of friends and family taken to share the friendly and innovative shopping/browsing fun.
Wooden furniture, jewellery, scarves, ornaments - even hand knitted baby booties. The premises continues to expand and develop - a bulk storeroom, another retail area - with amazing childrens "stuff", water features and a New Zealand goods area and throughout the changes the constant has been the excellent attitude and service given from the customer service team. Thank you 3G Teak."

"3G Teak is a vibrant and entrancing experience that I expected to have a flashy sort of price tag on as well, but.... Being a frugal sort of person and having being sent out by my work mates to find a special piece of greenstone, I shopped around. I looked in New Plymouth, Tauranga, Te Awamutu and used both Trademe and the internet - I learnt the hard way, the '3G Teak experience' is not just awesome customer service, great gift ideas, but it's also economical! Interestingly, the greenstone was carved by a local too, so even better, Thank you Team 3G Teak, we love your shops!"

"The shopping experience with 3G Teak is excellent. Their shops at TeKuiti and Otorohanga are always well stocked with goods. Great for buying gifts to post overseas or for spoiling yourself.Friendly smiles and help when needed.Online shopping is great!! The package arrived promptly and the goods were well wrapped. I have shopped at the stores for many years as we travel to New Plymouth and always enjoy looking at what is on offer. I like the way the goods are arranged in colours so choosing a handbag/jewellery etc is made so much easier. Congratulations on maintaining the excellence."

"I call into 3G Teak on my way to New Plymouth and on the way back to Tauranga. Love everything in the store. Have already bought Christmas pressies, also cool gifts for my Granddaughter. I would recommend the stop and across the road for coffee! Great staff, friendly and obliging. They also have a discount area in the shed out the back."

"3G Teak is an absolutely Fab place to find something for a gift for anyone and sometimes something special for me, Yay! It is my favourite place to visit when driving North from New Plymouth or returning home. We sometimes stop on both trips. The staff are so friendly and helpful if you kneed it but they also let you browse on your own with no pressure.
Thank you 3G Teak I tell everyone I know that they need to visit you."
